MCity Groups

An important Next Step for the Christian is plugging into community. MCITY Groups is aimed at providing and growing this community.
Each week of the semester, MCITY Groups meet for discussion, prayer, and encouragement.
This is the time where you are able to get to know to a smaller group of people who you can meet and feel connected to.

Discipleship River

We want people to gather together based on where they are in their spiritual journey. First, there is a New Believer Group for those brand new to faith in Jesus. Secondly, there Small Groups available in the form of "Family Based" and "Sermon Based". "Family Based" Groups will have childcare! Last, but not least, we have D-Groups. These are smaller, high accountability, high commitment Groups who read the New Testament and do life together for 12-18 months! Which one is right for you?

Semester Based System

Life flows in seasons, and we want to make it easy for you to be in the right group for you in each season. This is why we have new groups that start and stop after about 12 weeks in what we referred to as semesters. Breaks during the semesters typically last for about four weeks. These breaks are a time for us to have leader training and a time for our men's and women’s ministries to meet.
*D-Groups are an exception

Everyone Can Join The River

Our hope is for every person at Mission City to be connected in a meaningful community through a group. With a group to fit your spiritual journey every semester, we are confident there’s a group for you. You can search groups by type, location, day, and time in our online groups directory with the link below. Be on the lookout for our Group Semester Launch Weekends and get plugged in!

Foundations

*Rutland & Bennington
These Groups are created with the person young in their faith in mind! We have created an environment suitable for someone new to faith or young in faith to come and learn what it looks like to become a disciple of Jesus! These groups will meet with a mentor on a one on one level until they finish the content they've been given; this should take 6-9 weeks while meeting weekly. The Foundations member will graduate from this group having clear Next Steps for their pursuit of Jesus!

Family Based Group

*Bennington
For those of you who are parents, you know one thing—your kids are always changing. From newborn to twelfth grade, there is always something new in their development, or some new challenge they are facing, or some new obstacle they are overcoming. So how do we make the most of each developmental phase in a kid’s life? How do we parent in a way that helps our kids feel known and supported? How can we anticipate some of the challenges they will face?Join Paul and Bridgette as they learn and help others learn how to parent through the phases! You will meet with your group for 3 months, weekly.

Sermon Based Group

*Rutland & Bennington
These Groups are created with everyone in mind! We have created an environment suitable for someone interested in Jesus all the way to someone who has been following Jesus for years! You'll find a few options under this "umbrella" of groups - Sermon Based Groups and Family Based Groups. These Groups will gather to discuss what was preached the previous weekend at Mission City Church. These groups will meet for 3 months and gather weekly. The Group member will graduate from this group with clear hopes to join a D-Group!
