Pastor John serves as the Executive Pastor for Mission City Church. His early childhood was spent in East Texas and teenage years in central New Hampshire. He graduated college with degree in Marketing from Quinnipiac University and holds a Master’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He and his bride of 27 years moved to Vermont in 2000 and raised their two children in the small town of Arlington where they still reside today.
John accepted Christ into his heart at a young age but it wasn’t until the age of 34, upon the birth of his first child, that he fully turned his life over to following Jesus. He and Anne started attending church regularly, joined a small group and dug into the word. No surprise John started changing from the inside out, the things of this world started to lose their luster and he began to do things for others and find joy and blessing in serving. As John matured in his faith he was afforded the opportunity to serve in numerous roles within the church. Over the years he taught Sunday school, was a trustee, an elder, lead global missions, etc.
After a 30-year career in business John went into full time ministry in 2014 becoming the Executive Director of the Eugene Bell Foundation, a Christian non-profit serving the lost and forgotten in North Korea and has been actively serving international Christian aide and development organizations ever sense. “It has been a wild ride following Jesus. I’ve been so blessed to be part of something beyond myself. His plan is way better than my plan…”
When not around the Church you can find John playing hoops at the high school gym or chasing trout in local streams.
